Overview
PJ Hegarty & Sons is looking for a Project Planner to join its construction team on a major project in the Dublin region. This is a project-based role reporting to the Contracts Manager. You will work with the wider management team to build, track, and report on baseline construction programmes across multiple CSA disciplines, while coordinating with MEP schedules to support smooth overall delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a dependable and responsive planning function for the project.
- Prepare schedules for every stage of the project across several disciplines.
- Ensure updates from area schedulers are completed, aligned, and checked for consistency so they support the overall programme.
- Carry out quality checks on schedules before they are issued externally to the client.
- Track progress against the programme, identify variances, and propose corrective actions.
- Coordinate a progress measurement system.
- Prepare and deliver schedule-control presentations to project teams and clients, including the procedures being used.
- Pull and review schedule data using filters, lookaheads, histograms, and S-curves.
- Support construction programme planning by gathering and analysing information for scheduling purposes.
- Work closely with site management teams.
- Create forecasts, variance reports, and other project-control documents to help monitor and manage delivery.
Requirements
- A degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a Construction Planner.
- Practical experience using Microsoft Project and Primavera.
- Background with a main contractor on large commercial building projects, including knowledge of civil works, M&E, and fit-out works.
- A motivated and enthusiastic approach.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Good time management, with the ability to work efficiently and meet demanding deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively both in a team and on your own.
