Role overview
Lyrath Estate Hotel in Kilkenny is hiring an experienced Reservations Agent to join its team at the award-winning 5-star property. The position reports to the Revenue Manager and focuses on increasing revenue while delivering a high level of guest satisfaction through the accurate handling of reservation requests.
Working pattern and suitability
This is a fully flexible role and requires availability across mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays. It is not intended for candidates seeking a summer-only position.
What you will do
- Manage incoming booking enquiries by phone, email, and online channels in a prompt and professional way.
- Process reservations accurately and keep the booking system up to date with all relevant guest details.
- Support revenue growth by promoting room upgrades, hotel services, and packages.
- Respond quickly and courteously to guest questions and special requests.
- Work closely with reception to help resolve guest billing queries.
- Coordinate with front office, sales, and housekeeping teams to help ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Build strong knowledge of room categories, available packages, hotel amenities, estate facilities, and nearby attractions.
- Assist with group reservations and corporate accounts when required.
- Follow departmental processes and standards to maintain high levels of service.
What the hotel is looking for
- Previous experience working in reservations is required.
- Experience in a guest-facing or customer service role is also needed.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills are essential.
- Good computer skills are necessary for daily work.
- The ideal candidate should be positive, guest-focused, and comfortable working in a busy team environment.
- Prior use of Hotsoft would be helpful, though it is not mandatory because training will be provided.
