About the role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be part of a high-performing data team focused on delivering data and analytics solutions at enterprise scale. The position is central to designing, developing, and refining data pipelines, data models, and data platforms that support better decision-making across the business.

You will contribute to major transformation programmes, including ERP rollouts and the modernisation of data platforms, with an emphasis on dependable, scalable, and high-quality data outcomes.

What you will need to succeed

• Background working as a Data Engineer, Data Modeler, Data Architect, or Database Developer.
• Practical knowledge of contemporary data technologies such as dbt, Snowflake, and cloud-based data platforms.
• Understanding of CI/CD workflows and DevOps/DataOps approaches.
• Experience supporting large enterprise transformation or data modernisation programmes.
• Hands-on involvement in ERP implementations and data migration efforts.
• Strong capability in data modelling across conceptual, logical, and physical layers.
• Deep experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL, as well as NoSQL systems such as MongoDB and Cassandra.
• Good understanding of data warehousing principles, ETL/ELT workflows, and data integration methods.

Contract details

This is a contract assignment running until the end of June 2027.

The role is based in Wellington, and candidates must already be located in Wellington.
