Role overview
This position supports the setup and launch of the new Woodford Youth Detention Centre. As a Senior Program Officer at AO6 level, you will provide coordination, reporting, governance and analytical assistance across a broad program of organisational, workforce, cultural and operational initiatives. The work spans multiple streams and is focused on helping the centre become ready to operate effectively.
Working alongside the Program Manager and workstream leads, you will help maintain clear reporting, strong governance and well-managed program information. The role also involves spotting ways to improve program processes and contributing to wider operational improvements across the youth detention network.
Key focus areas
You will be part of a complex, non-ICT program with around 25 concurrent initiatives. Your contribution will help keep information accurate, current and aligned across the program, while supporting disciplined delivery in a fast-moving environment.
Reporting and governance
The role includes preparing and coordinating reports, governance documents, briefings and dashboards for senior stakeholders. You will support RAID management, benefits tracking, documentation control and governance processes so that decision-makers have reliable visibility of progress, risks and issues.
Collaboration and improvement
You will work closely with a range of stakeholders across multiple workstreams to help maintain consistency and alignment. The position also asks you to identify reporting gaps, emerging risks and coordination challenges, and to contribute ideas that strengthen program governance and delivery practices.
Operational readiness impact
This is an opportunity to contribute to a significant and high-complexity program that supports the successful readiness and ongoing operation of a new detention centre. The role also offers exposure to program delivery, governance and operational readiness in a developing environment, with potential to inform future improvements across the broader network.
