Senior Scientist

Role overview

This position is with a global biopharmaceutical research group in Singapore that is working on next-generation biologics and new therapeutic strategies across several disease areas, including regenerative medicine and cardiometabolic disorders.

The company is looking for a highly motivated Senior Scientist with a strong scientific foundation in cell biology and/or pharmacology to contribute to advanced drug discovery efforts. The role brings together these two disciplines to support target validation, assay creation, and translational research in both in vitro and in vivo settings. You will help shape new therapeutic ideas and move programs from early discovery into preclinical development while working closely with cross-functional partners.

What you'll do

• Plan and carry out cell-based and pharmacology experiments, including in vitro and/or in vivo studies, to assess activity and understand how treatments work.
• Create and refine sophisticated assay systems such as phenotypic, imaging-driven, and functional screening platforms.
• Support research efforts in regenerative medicine, stem cell science, and disease biology.
• Advance novel drug discovery concepts from initial idea generation through experimental proof.
• Review, analyze, and explain complex research data and use the results to guide decisions and program progress.
• Work in close partnership with teams across biology, pharmacology, and other related disciplines.
• Guide and support junior colleagues while helping maintain a collaborative scientific environment.
• Contribute to publications, patent work, and internal knowledge exchange.

Requirements

• Doctorate degree in Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Life Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
• 0 to 3+ years of relevant professional experience in academia, biotech, or pharmaceutical research.
• Demonstrated depth in at least one of the following areas: cell biology, regenerative medicine, stem cells, or in vitro/in vivo pharmacology.
• Hands-on experience with functional assay design or pharmacological study execution.
• Strong ability to interpret data critically and turn findings into practical recommendations.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based setting.
• Self-driven, inventive, and enthusiastic about contributing to therapeutic innovation.
