About the role

This is a senior engineering position on the JavaScript SDK team, focused on advancing Sentry’s framework integrations across the modern JavaScript ecosystem. The work spans SDKs for frontend and meta-frameworks such as React, Vue, Next.js, and Nuxt, as well as server and edge environments including NestJS and Hono. The role is suited to someone who enjoys deep technical problem-solving, modern developer tooling, and building software that is used by a large global developer audience.

What you will do

• Work across a wide range of JavaScript SDKs with emphasis on framework support across the modern ecosystem, including React, Vue, Next.js, Nuxt, NestJS, Hono, and related environments.
• Own features from planning through release, including implementation, testing, and documentation.
• Write and maintain unit tests and integration tests to ensure reliability and quality.
• Use AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and focus on higher-value engineering work.
• Represent Sentry in the open-source community and interact with external technical groups such as TC39 and the OpenTelemetry SIG.
• Support customer-facing issue resolution by working with Customer Operations on critical bugs.
• Engage directly with users through GitHub and at industry events and conferences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a software engineer, web developer, or in a closely related role.
• Strong practical experience building web applications, libraries, or SDKs with TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with at least two modern JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Next.js, Vue, Nuxt, NestJS, or Hono.
• Solid understanding of framework rendering approaches, lifecycle behavior, and runtime differences.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
• Based in the Toronto, Canada area or willing to relocate there.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with edge runtimes, server components, or hybrid rendering patterns.
• Experience contributing to or maintaining open-source libraries.
• Exposure to open-source committees or working groups.

Compensation and benefits

The expected base salary range for this role is CAD 200,000 to CAD 295,000 per year. Final pay depends on factors such as location, education, overall experience, skills, and role-specific knowledge.
