About the Company
The company is building a collaborative AI workspace that brings knowledge, projects, meetings, and AI tools together in one environment so teams can work with greater speed, clarity, and less fragmentation. The platform is used by millions of individuals, small teams, and large enterprises.
Employees are expected to be the first users of the product and help shape a future of work that is thoughtful, durable, and human-centered. The focus is not on launching features for the sake of it, but on setting a high standard for how people work together in the AI era. Teams are building tools that help businesses manage their system of record, create and oversee AI agents, and automate repetitive work so customers can spend more time on meaningful tasks.
About the Role
As a software engineer, you will contribute to core product experiences and help users discover value more quickly. The role involves solving important problems with growing independence, writing code used by a large audience, making technical decisions, and adding your perspective to product direction. You will collaborate with design, product, and data partners to influence how people work in the future.
The company is recruiting new graduate engineers for multiple teams, and the recruiting process will help identify the best-fit team based on your interests and where you can contribute most effectively.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with teammates to plan, design, build, launch, and maintain new product features from concept through implementation and ongoing upkeep. One example is improving activation by instrumenting onboarding steps and refining adoption flows.
- Work on improving speed, stability, and polish across existing product areas. This could include syncing dictionaries across browsers in the spell checker or enhancing search so file attachments are indexed more effectively.
- Create internal tools that improve team efficiency and reduce friction, such as scripts that bring user feedback into the workspace.
Qualifications
- You are working toward or have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a closely related discipline, and you must be available to begin full-time before July 27, 2026.
- You have prior internship experience.
- You are developing proficiency in one or more programming languages such as TypeScript, Node.js, or Python.
Skills and Working Style
- You focus on delivering user impact through technology rather than chasing tools or trends for their own sake.
- You keep up with modern AI-assisted development tools such as Codex and Claude Code and choose tools pragmatically based on value.
- You approach problems carefully, break them into manageable parts, and work toward clean solutions independently or with support from teammates.
- You take ownership of outcomes, communicate progress and blockers clearly, and move work forward without waiting for step-by-step direction.
- You enjoy collaborating across functions and contributing to shared goals.
- You are interested in building and maintaining high-quality web interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a modern framework such as React.
- You understand how frontend, backend, and data systems connect, and familiarity with databases such as Postgres, MySQL, or MongoDB is helpful.
Nice to Have
- Experience with parts of the stack such as React, TypeScript, Node.js, Postgres, or Elasticsearch.
- You enjoy building software for yourself or for others.
- You care about the relationship between technology and society and think about the responsibilities that come with building technology.
- You are familiar with computing pioneers such as Ada Lovelace, Douglas Engelbart, and Alan Kay, and appreciate their contributions.
Compensation and Benefits
This role is offered with competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The exact offer will depend on factors such as location, scope of the role, and the candidate’s background and experience. For candidates based in San Francisco or New York City, the estimated annual salary range is $126,000 to $146,000.
Application and Policy Notes
By submitting an application, you agree that the company and its affiliates may collect and process your information in line with the Global Recruiting Privacy Policy.
AI Expectations
AI curiosity is valued across the organization. Team members are expected to be interested in experimenting, learning, and using AI as a practical collaborator. For certain roles, strong AI fluency may be required and will be stated explicitly in the qualifications. Successful candidates use AI to improve thinking and make their work easier for others to build on.
Equal Opportunity and Accommodations
The employer welcomes candidates from many different backgrounds and encourages applications even if not every qualification is met. Employment decisions are made without discrimination based on any legally protected characteristic. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered where permitted by law.
Reasonable accommodations are available during the hiring process for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans. If you need support or an accommodation, you should inform your recruiter.
The employer also states that it does not discriminate in hiring or other employment decisions based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, pregnancy, childbirth, marital status, ancestry, disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics, and will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in accordance with applicable law.
