Software Tester

Role Overview

We are seeking a Software Tester to join our team and ensure the quality, accuracy, and reliability of our grid modeling and power system analysis platform. This application is designed to optimize project grid connections by considering network constraints, curtailment risks, regulatory requirements, and electrical standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of power systems combined with software testing expertise, collaborating closely with product owners, power system engineers, and development teams to validate both functional and engineering correctness.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for power system and grid modeling functionalities.
• Conduct various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Validate intricate analytical workflows such as grid connection feasibility studies, constraint analysis, and curtailment calculations.
• Verify the accuracy of electrical calculations, modeling assumptions, and simulation results.
• Ensure adherence to grid codes, regulatory mandates, and relevant electrical standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, local grid codes).
• Test edge cases involving network constraints, congestion scenarios, and unusual grid conditions.
• Assess the reliability of grid modeling services under simulated realistic load conditions.
• Perform in-depth root-cause analysis for critical defects that affect engineering accuracy or regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate effectively with product owners, power system engineers, and UX teams to grasp project requirements.
• Generate and maintain detailed test documentation, comprehensive test reports, and key quality metrics.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated understanding of power system concepts, including load flow and network constraints, grid interconnection processes, and curtailment and congestion risks.
• Familiarity with power system tools or models such as PowerFactory, PSSE, PSCAD, ETAP, DigSILENT, or MATLAB.
• Experience with test automation frameworks like PyTest, Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
