Role Overview
This opportunity is for a strategic and highly detail-focused Copywriter to help define the voice of a modern skincare brand rooted in science. The role centers on turning ingredient science, clinical innovation, and product performance into clear, persuasive consumer messaging that supports education, engagement, and sales across multiple channels.
The right candidate will combine strong storytelling ability with genuine scientific curiosity. You should be equally comfortable developing messaging for a major product launch as you are writing concise, conversion-driven product page copy. The role reports to the Art Director and works closely with Brand Marketing, Product Development, E-Commerce, CRM, Social, and Design to keep messaging aligned across every customer interaction.
This is a temporary assignment for an initial three-month period. Depending on business needs and performance, the role may be extended or converted into a permanent full-time position.
Responsibilities
- Own copy development for new product launches, from early positioning ideas through final campaign execution.
- Shape product narratives that explain formulation benefits, ingredient science, and clinical performance in a compelling way.
- Create launch messaging systems, campaign ideas, taglines, and supporting promotional copy.
- Turn complex scientific or technical information into language that is clear, approachable, and persuasive for consumers.
- Draft and polish packaging copy, including product descriptions, usage instructions, claims, and compliant regulatory wording.
- Work with Product Development and Regulatory teams to keep packaging communication accurate and consistent.
- Write and manage website content across product detail pages, landing pages, category pages, promotional banners, and bundles.
- Balance brand storytelling, education, and conversion goals in digital commerce copy.
- Develop lifecycle marketing copy for emails, automated journeys, launch communications, promotional messages, and retention initiatives.
- Write SMS copy that stays true to the brand voice while encouraging engagement and conversions.
- Support social copy needs for organic and paid campaigns.
- Contribute to campaign calendars, brand storytelling, and broader content initiatives.
- Protect and maintain a consistent brand voice across all channels while adapting for channel-specific requirements.
- Continuously refine messaging frameworks as the brand evolves.
- Handle additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of copywriting experience, ideally in beauty, skincare, wellness, luxury consumer products, or similar categories.
- A strong portfolio showing work across campaigns, digital commerce, CRM, and product storytelling.
- Demonstrated ability to write in a polished, premium, elevated brand tone.
- Experience converting scientific, technical, or ingredient-led information into compelling consumer-facing copy.
- Solid understanding of skincare, beauty, wellness, or related consumer spaces.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy.
- Comfort managing multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to carry out essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Information
This position is based in Los Angeles, California. The role is onsite. Compensation for this position is USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year. The company is seeking someone who can start as a temporary team member for the initial three-month project period, with potential to continue beyond that period depending on business needs and performance.
