Role overview
The Vice President of Strategy & Operations is a senior leadership role embedded in the corporate development function. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, this position partners closely with the CEO, executive team, and other leaders to shape company direction and turn strategic priorities into practical, measurable execution. The role has a global scope and blends long-range strategy with hands-on operational leadership.
The successful candidate will be responsible for enterprise-wide planning, improving operating performance, and coordinating cross-functional programs that support scalable growth. This position acts as a key link between strategy and execution across finance, product, sales, marketing, customer success, and people operations.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of major strategic initiatives from early definition through delivery and long-term adoption.
- Create execution rhythms, governance structures, and accountability mechanisms that help teams deliver sustained results.
- Work with the CEO and senior leaders to launch and operationalize business-critical programs across the company.
- Help define medium- and long-term strategy across markets, offerings, customer groups, and adjacent growth opportunities.
- Develop corporate development capabilities such as market scanning, M&A target sourcing, and evaluation of build, buy, or partner options.
- Lead competitive research and market analysis, then convert findings into clear recommendations for decision-makers.
- Support investor relations and Board communications by preparing presentations, business updates, strategic narratives, and executive messaging.
- Make sure the CEO is fully prepared and aligned for both internal and external meetings with key stakeholders.
- Drive AI-centered transformation efforts to improve scale, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate and roll out AI-based tools and automation across different business functions.
- Design scalable operating solutions by addressing bottlenecks, process gaps, and execution issues.
Candidate profile
- A master's degree in business or a closely related discipline is preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience, ideally with a background in an MBB firm or a top strategy boutique.
- Demonstrated leadership in scaling operations within a fast-growing environment.
- Prior exposure to SaaS or technology businesses is preferred.
- Strong track record of delivering measurable impact in complex, global organizations.
- Well-developed analytical, financial, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with strategic planning, business intelligence, and operational operating models/frameworks.
- Excellent executive presence, cross-functional influence, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, candid culture that values innovation, healthy challenge, and follow-through.
- Interest in AI and emerging technologies, with a willingness to apply them to improve outcomes.
Additional information
This is a full-time, exempt position based in Charlotte, NC, with a hybrid working arrangement. The role is part of the corporate development team and is intended for an experienced strategic operator who can work across the business at a global level.
