Warehouse Operations Lead

Job Purpose

This role is centered on creating a connected, high-performing, and future-ready distribution network that strengthens the market advantage of ABLBL’s brands across all channels. The position focuses on working closely with 3PL partners to ensure KRAs and SLAs are met through the right people, systems, and operating discipline, while also driving continuous improvement through 5S, Kaizen, and SGA initiatives.

The role is expected to improve business profitability by lifting service performance metrics such as OTIF, DIFOT, turnaround time, and order-to-delivery lead time, while also keeping warehouse costs under control. A major part of the job is to improve productivity, simplify operations, strengthen processes, ensure safe working practices, and build a warehouse function that is scalable, dependable, agile, sustainable, and efficient by global standards.

Key Responsibilities

The position is responsible for meeting financial and customer service goals for the warehouse function, including resource planning, handling product skews efficiently, and responding quickly to supply chain needs. It also requires keeping warehousing cost per piece within budget and continuously reducing throughput losses, per-piece cost, and wastage in current warehouse operations.

Warehouse process design and optimization are a core part of the role. This includes improving productivity, accuracy, and efficiency; ensuring process compliance; completing inward and outward movements within target timelines; making sure warehouse deliveries are completed on time; and handling returns accounting as per established norms. The role also involves implementing workplace improvement systems such as 5S and Kaizen, and rolling out warehouse management processes including batch management, flow-through, handling unit management, cycle counts, physical inventory, and inbound/outbound operations integrated with RF devices.

The role also includes coordination with statutory and internal auditors for process and inventory audits. Inventory control is another major area of focus, involving reconciliation of system information flow, control over inward and outward transactions, and maintaining high stock accuracy and visibility. The incumbent is expected to strengthen inventory management practices and improve control over warehouse stock.

From a customer standpoint, the role must ensure efficient warehousing and logistics support by improving inventory visibility and enabling faster dispatches to stores. It also requires regular engagement with business stakeholders to understand requirements, maintain OTIF and DIFOT performance, and work with the IT team to secure timely system customizations and warehouse-related technology support.

Financial ownership extends to warehouse budgeting and cost discipline. The role involves leading the annual budgeting exercise across brands and facilities, ensuring expenses remain within approved limits, controlling capex, managing warehouse stock appropriately, and contributing to working capital reduction.

People leadership is also a critical part of the job. The role requires guiding, motivating, and empowering the warehouse team; ensuring strong talent availability for different roles; building cross-functional teams and project plans; developing coaching and succession pipelines; and creating fair and objective systems for performance review and rewards.

Additional Information

This role also emphasizes safe and compliant warehouse operations. The incumbent must ensure site-level safety adherence and overall operational compliance. The warehouse function is expected to be benchmarked against leading global standards through robust systems, strong process discipline, and an engaged team.
