Accommodation Assistant

Role overview

The Ellison Hotel is looking for an Accommodation Assistant to become part of its expanding and energetic housekeeping team in Castlebar, County Mayo.

Key duties

• Keep guest bedrooms and all shared areas clean, prepared, and well organised.
• Work independently when needed, while also following room lists and assigned tasks.
• Coordinate with the front office and events team regarding lost property, ensuring found items are recorded and securely placed in the lost property area in the events office.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in bedrooms in line with standard operating procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in public areas in line with standard operating procedures.
• Work with the Housekeeping Supervisor and Accommodation Manager to make sure maintenance problems are reported promptly.
• Prepare priority rooms and arrival rooms on time.
• Set up rollaway beds and complete special room requests before guests check in.
• Take part in training sessions when required.
• Follow all health and safety rules and procedures.
• Review the notice board and daily briefing sheet, then complete assigned actions.
• Escalate guest complaints immediately to the supervisor or manager.
• Keep the housekeeping office and storage areas clean, orderly, and tidy.
