Role Summary
The Application Engineer will support distributors with application guidance and sales assistance for the full unitary product range. The role involves improving product selection and quotation accuracy based on consultant design specifications, preparing project submittals, and helping streamline the export territory portfolio, spare parts list, and pricing together with the Territory Sales Manager. The position also supports sales efforts and builds productive relationships with distributors and customers across the assigned territory to grow SKM’s business.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong technical and application knowledge of the product range.
- Support consultants in export markets with design and specification inputs.
- Handle technical and commercial enquiries, including pricing requests, product selection, and technical submittals.
- Accurately interpret customer needs and communicate them clearly to internal teams.
- Deliver pre-sales support and product education through technical and product training for sales teams and engineers at targeted accounts.
- Contribute to the design and improvement of new products and tools that help target accounts sell SKM offerings more effectively.
- Keep the Sales Management Tool (SMT) updated at all times so management receives timely and reliable market feedback.
- Prepare technical presentations and show how products satisfy client requirements.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of accounts, opportunities, quotations, projects, contacts, and correspondence in approved company databases.
- Build and sustain professional business relationships with target accounts.
- Track the progress of current and upcoming projects.
- Identify customer needs and commercial opportunities that support future growth.
- Support distributors in application and sales activities for the unitary product portfolio.
- Work with the Territory Sales Manager to refine the export territory product portfolio, spare parts, and pricing structure.
- Contribute to the development of SKM sales business within the assigned territory.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3 to 8 years of experience in the air conditioning industry.
- Strong technical understanding of HVAC equipment.
- Working knowledge of the Northern Emirates, Abu Dhabi, or Dubai market.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and product selection software.
- Solid experience in VRF selection, application, and sales.
- Clear understanding of forecasting and the importance of achieving sales targets.
