Role overview

The Assistant Supply Planning Manager is tasked with keeping service levels, inventory, and cost in the right balance while handling fluctuations in demand and supply. As the supply chain lead for the category, this person acts as the main connection point between Supply Chain and teams across Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics to support strong customer service and business results.

This position oversees Central Supply Planning, Network Planning, and Customer Service, with responsibility for improving operational performance, streamlining processes, and managing disruptions across the full supply chain. It also contributes to the rollout of digital and AI-based planning tools and helps shape supply chain approaches that are flexible, resilient, and cost-conscious.

Responsibilities

  • Create and run production and replenishment plans aligned to demand forecasts and business priorities.
  • Place inventory effectively across factories, distribution centres, and depots while protecting service targets.
  • Plan for promotional and event-driven demand, including timely pre-builds and smooth execution.
  • Assess supply and demand scenarios to identify issues early and reduce risks and constraints.
  • Guide network planning efforts to improve speed, flexibility, and operating efficiency.
  • Work closely with Category, Marketing, Customer Marketing, and Sales teams so supply chain plans support business goals.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Procurement, Logistics, and Distribution Planning to maintain product availability without interruption.
  • Partner with Demand Planning and Planning Excellence teams to strengthen forecast quality and planning outcomes.
  • Serve as the central contact for all supply chain topics for the assigned category.
  • Use modern planning systems, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to raise planning accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support the adoption of digital supply chain solutions and next-generation planning capabilities.
  • Drive improvement and cost-saving initiatives across the supply network.
  • Promote standard methods and best practices in planning processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop teams across Central Supply Planning, Network Planning, and Customer Service.
  • Handle supply disruptions and work with stakeholders to resolve them quickly.
  • Build a strong culture of ownership, teamwork, and high performance.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and align cross-functional teams around business objectives.
