Role overview
An established Irish eCommerce retailer is hiring a seasoned Content & Category Lead to oversee a team of Content Executives, own category performance across the website, and keep content operations running smoothly. This position combines people leadership with commercial delivery, with a strong focus on trading outcomes, category growth, and online customer experience.
You will be responsible for guiding a five-person team, maintaining delivery against deadlines, and ensuring content quality stays aligned with business priorities. The role involves close partnership with Buying, Marketing, and Operations to improve product information, category execution, and on-site performance.
This opportunity is best suited to an experienced eCommerce professional who brings leadership capability, commercial thinking, and practical knowledge of SEO/SEA and online merchandising.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of five Content Executives, setting clear expectations and maintaining high performance standards.
- Organise workloads, prioritise tasks, and make sure commercial and trading deadlines are met.
- Oversee daily content activity, ensuring the website remains accurate, consistent, and high quality.
- Take charge of assigned product categories and improve results through stronger content, merchandising, and optimisation.
- Track category performance using KPIs and reports to uncover opportunities that improve conversion, average order value, and revenue.
- Make sure product listings and category pages are optimised for both usability and search visibility.
- Partner with Marketing to support SEO and SEA initiatives and strengthen organic traffic and visibility.
- Protect and maintain strong standards for product catalogue accuracy, structure, and governance.
- Support trading campaigns, promotions, and launches through careful content planning and execution.
- Work closely with Buying and Marketing to ensure activity is aligned with campaigns and commercial goals.
- Continuously raise website content standards and improve user experience across the site.
Experience and qualifications
The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5+ years of experience in eCommerce, online retail, or digital trading, along with proven experience managing direct reports. A strong background in content management, category management, or online merchandising is important.
Hands-on experience with SEO and/or SEA is essential; the employer is looking for someone who has actively applied these skills to improve visibility, traffic, or conversion, rather than someone with only indirect exposure. Experience using CMS, PIM, or ERP systems in a retail setting is also required.
The role calls for solid commercial awareness, confidence using KPIs and performance data, strong organisation, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. Candidates must have full legal permission to work in Ireland and be able to commute to North Dublin, as this is an office-based role.
