Role Overview

The Chief Operating Officer is a full-time remote leadership position responsible for directing day-to-day operations across Galaxy Digital’s business units. The aim of the role is to improve efficiency, support scale, and keep operations aligned with regulatory expectations. The COO will create and roll out operating models, refine workflows, and define performance measures that back strategic objectives and long-term growth. This leader will work closely with executive management on business planning, budget decisions, and resource deployment, while coordinating with finance, risk, compliance, technology, and product teams to maintain effective controls and operational rigor. The position also involves monitoring operational results, resolving cross-functional blockers, driving process improvement, managing operational exposure connected to digital assets and financial markets, mentoring senior leaders, building strong teams, and contributing to executive decisions and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and improve the daily operating structure across multiple business areas.
• Build operational systems, processes, and governance frameworks that support growth and scalability.
• Set and track performance metrics that align with business strategy.
• Partner with executive leadership on planning, budgeting, and workforce or capital allocation.
• Work with finance, risk, compliance, technology, and product teams to strengthen controls and execution.
• Review operating performance regularly and address issues that span functions or teams.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts and remove inefficiencies from core processes.
• Oversee operational risk management tied to digital assets and broader financial markets.
• Coach and develop senior leaders while helping build high-performing, accountable teams.
• Support board-level, investor, and regulator-facing communication when needed.

Requirements

• Strong experience in operations leadership, including building and improving processes, systems, and operating frameworks across several business lines.
• Proven track record in business planning, strategic execution, and organizational design.
• Strong analytical ability to work with complex data and turn it into practical decisions.
• Solid finance and budgeting knowledge, including profit and loss ownership, cost management, and resource planning in financial services.
• Substantial senior leadership background in operations or a comparable executive role, preferably in financial services, fintech, or digital assets.
• Experience leading distributed or remote teams and creating a collaborative, performance-driven culture.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfort engaging with boards, investors, and regulators.
• Useful experience in risk, compliance, and regulatory matters within digital assets or traditional financial markets.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field; an MBA, another advanced degree, or relevant certifications would be advantageous.
