Data & AI Engineer

Role overview

This long-term contract opportunity is based in Dublin and requires on-site attendance two days each week. The hiring client is growing its AI capability and needs a seasoned Data & AI Engineer with a strong background in data privacy safeguards and AI security governance. The position focuses on protecting sensitive information across the wider digital environment and reducing security exposure linked to AI.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the organisation’s data and AI security policies, along with the related standards.
• Develop and operate controls that safeguard sensitive data.
• Enhance security practices for data and AI across the business.
• Partner with data and AI governance teams so that controls and processes align with regulatory obligations and internal policies.

Experience and technical requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in data security and information protection.
• Hands-on knowledge of data protection control tools such as Microsoft Purview.
• Practical understanding of AI security methods and threats, including evasion attacks and model inversion.
• Experience collaborating with governance teams and stakeholders to roll out policy changes.
• CISSP certification and/or AI Copilot certification.
• Solid grasp of core data protection principles.
• Strong analytical ability.
• Experience securing AI/ML solutions in cloud-based environments.

Additional information

This is a long-term daily-rate contract role in Dublin with a hybrid working pattern of 2 days on site per week.
