Role overview

Transfreight Logistics Limited is hiring a Declaration Officer for its Mombasa office. The position sits within the customs team and focuses on handling import and export declaration work in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key duties

You will prepare and file customs declarations for inbound and outbound shipments, use the KRA iCMS/Simba platform, assign the correct HS codes to goods, and coordinate with KRA and port officials to keep clearance processes moving smoothly.

Experience and knowledge needed

The role calls for practical customs declaration and clearing experience, ideally gained in a freight forwarding or clearing and forwarding setting. Applicants should also have a working understanding of Kenyan customs procedures and the KRA systems used for declarations.

Technical and personal requirements

Strong accuracy, the ability to work well under pressure, and confidence in managing time-sensitive shipments are important. KRA certificates that allow password creation are required.
