Role overview
This opportunity is with a rapidly expanding deep-tech organisation working where artificial intelligence, computational science, and pharmaceutical research meet. Its platform helps address a major bottleneck in drug discovery by combining advanced simulation methods with crystal structure prediction to speed up work that normally takes many years.
The position is suited to a DevOps Engineer who enjoys designing systems from scratch rather than simply maintaining existing infrastructure. The work involves building the platform that supports advanced scientific computing and enables the team to move quickly and safely.
What you will do
- Create and improve self-managed CI/CD systems that are practical and pleasant for engineers to use.
- Coordinate container-based workloads across distributed infrastructure.
- Develop observability and monitoring setups that provide live insight into complex environments.
- Take ownership of infrastructure-as-code and automation from the outset.
- Collaborate closely with highly technical research and development teams, as well as leadership, to scale architecture effectively.
- Help build an environment where experimentation can happen faster without compromising stability or safety.

The ideal candidate is proactive, technically curious, and comfortable solving challenging infrastructure problems in a sophisticated environment. This role is not intended for someone who only responds to incoming tickets; it calls for someone who is hands-on and motivated by building robust systems.
