EHS Coordinator

Role overview

Kraft Heinz is seeking a permanent EHS Coordinator to support its Hawke’s Bay site in New Zealand. What you will do

• Keep HSE documents, records and policies current, organized and easy to retrieve.
• Compile and submit monthly HSE reporting as required.
• Coordinate health and safety committee meetings and ensure actions are completed.
• Encourage safe work habits, including hazard spotting and near-miss reporting.
• Help the site remain compliant with legal, regulatory and internal HSE obligations.
• Maintain hazard and risk registers and carry out risk assessments to confirm controls are effective.
• Monitor audit, inspection and compliance findings and drive corrective actions through to verified completion.
• Assist with incident reporting and investigations, determine underlying causes, and support implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
• Manage contractor safety processes such as inductions, approvals, review of safety plans and on-site compliance checks.
• Support environmental compliance activities, including monitoring programs, hazardous substance records, improvement efforts and progress on site HSE goals.

What you will bring

• A relevant qualification in Health, Safety and Environment, or equivalent hands-on experience in a site-based role.
• Practical experience with HSE documentation, record keeping and monthly reporting, including the use of reporting systems or tools.
• Solid understanding of HSE legal and regulatory requirements and how to apply them in a workplace setting.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments, maintain risk registers and verify that controls are working effectively.
• Experience supporting or leading audits and inspections, developing action plans and ensuring items are closed out.
• Background in incident reporting and investigations, including root cause analysis and tracking preventive actions.
• Experience managing contractor safety, including inductions, method statement or safety plan reviews, and monitoring compliance on site.
• Working knowledge of environmental compliance and hazardous substance management, including inventories, monitoring and improvement initiatives.
• Incident investigation, risk assessment and environmental certification would be an advantage.
• Full working rights to work in New Zealand.
