About the role

Stoddart Group is a major supplier and installer serving the residential construction sector. The company plays a key, though often behind-the-scenes, role in helping deliver new homes. This position sits within the National Estimating and Purchasing team and partners closely with builders to support smooth, efficient project delivery.

As the business continues to expand, the team is looking for a motivated and detail-focused Estimator to join the Head Office in Darra, Queensland on a full-time basis. The role is suited to someone who can take ownership of their own workload, meet deadlines, and work alongside internal teams to produce accurate estimates in a timely manner.

What you'll do

• Examine and interpret residential building plans and complete quantity take-offs using a CAD-based system.
• Review customer specifications and recommend suitable solutions where needed.
• Check that customer documents are accurate and aligned with compliance requirements.
• Calculate the materials and labour needed for site-specific jobs.
• Work with both internal and external stakeholders to keep projects moving.

What we're looking for

• Previous estimating experience in residential construction.
• Knowledge of the construction industry and its products.
• A structured approach with excellent attention to detail.
• Strong organisational skills and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to read building plans and 3D CAD models with confidence.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook.
• Solid numeracy and practical maths skills.
• Clear communication and the ability to collaborate effectively.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with computer-based estimating systems.
• Basic understanding of roofing.
• Experience with Applicad software, preferred.
• Willingness to learn Roof Wizard, with training provided.
• Proactive, engaged, and solutions-oriented approach.
• Ownership mindset and accountability for results.
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
• Comfort discussing difficult issues when necessary.
