Facility Management Engineer

Role overview

This position focuses on keeping building operations stable, efficient, and compliant. The engineer will oversee the upkeep of facility systems, support day-to-day FM activities, inspect equipment and infrastructure, resolve technical problems, and help maintain safety and quality standards across the site.

Core responsibilities

• Track the condition and performance of essential building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Carry out regular site inspections to spot maintenance requirements before they turn into larger issues.
• Assess and sign off on technical submissions, drawings, and maintenance work methods.
• Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to plan and complete corrective and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose system breakdowns and advise on the most suitable corrective measures.
• Make sure all activities align with safety rules, relevant codes, and internal standards.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at lowering energy use and improving sustainability.
• Document technical findings and maintain clear, accurate records and reports.

Qualifications and experience

A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Facility Engineering is required. The role calls for 3 to 7 years of experience in facility operations or maintenance engineering, along with a solid understanding of building systems and established facility management practices. Familiarity with CAFM/CMMS tools and engineering software is also expected. Candidates should be strong in analysis, communication, and problem-solving.
