This opportunity is for a Financial Controller in Canada, presented on behalf of a partner employer that handles the application process and all follow-up steps. You will own core finance activities end to end, including reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and internal controls, all within a fully remote setup. You will also work closely with teams across operations, marketing, and finance to help guide decisions with reliable data. Key responsibilities

• Run month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and compliant reporting.
• Oversee complete accounting operations, including treasury activities, general ledger management, and financial reporting, while improving workflows through efficiency and automation.
• Work with cross-functional teams to protect data accuracy, keep financial activity aligned with internal policies, and maintain compliance with IFRS and GAAP requirements.
• Design, implement, and strengthen internal controls, including approval structures and safeguards for company assets.
• Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts, along with cash flow planning, variance analysis, and performance reporting.
• Assist with external audits, tax submissions, and regulatory reporting, while ensuring high-quality output across all finance deliverables.

Requirements

• CPA certification is mandatory.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related discipline is required.
• At least 7 years of cumulative accounting and finance experience in roles with increasing responsibility.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting frameworks, and accounting fundamentals.
• Demonstrated experience leading month-end close and preparing financial statements.
• Practical experience introducing internal controls and enhancing finance processes in a growing business.
• Ability to work with ERP platforms such as NetSuite or similar systems.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and detail-oriented working style.
• Experience collaborating with external auditors and third-party vendors.
