Financial Controller

Opportunity

A rapidly growing consumer brand is seeking a proactive, hands-on Financial Controller to support its expansion in Australia and into overseas markets. This is a chance to help influence the finance direction of a business that is gaining traction across both retail and digital sales channels.

To be a strong fit, you should bring deep experience from consumer-facing businesses, especially within retail, ecommerce, or consumer goods, as this background is important to the company’s growth plans.

Role overview

In this position, you will work closely with the Founder and CEO to provide the financial guidance, analysis, and oversight required to scale the business effectively. You will also collaborate with operations to make sure execution plans align with financial targets and outcomes.

Core responsibilities

• Take ownership of the entire finance function, including budgets, forecasts, reporting, and cash flow management.
• Lead pricing decisions, margin review, and profitability analysis for new product launches.
• Monitor and manage revenue performance, margin outcomes, and cash position.
• Oversee accurate tax reporting and international compliance requirements.
• Improve reporting processes so leadership has clearer, more useful decision-making information.
• Create finance processes that can support continued growth and scale efficiently.

About you

You will have substantial experience working with consumer-facing brands, particularly in retail, ecommerce, or consumer goods manufacturing. A CA or CPA qualification is required, along with the confidence to operate independently as the sole finance professional in the business. The role suits someone who combines strong structure and organisation with a clear commercial mindset.
