About the company
The business has more than two decades of experience in the fuel sector and has built an end-to-end ERP platform used by customers in New Zealand, Australia, and Canada.
Its core capability is creating tightly connected systems that link fuel meters, POS solutions, in-cab truck technology, third-party software, and modern web applications. The aim is to simplify operations and lower risk for clients through a unified platform.
Role overview
Reporting to the Development Manager, you will work across backend and system-level components as well as the web applications that support the ERP platform.
You will collaborate with the team responsible for core ERP functionality, with your emphasis on building out the surrounding ecosystem and ensuring it works smoothly across connected systems.
What you will do
- Help extend the ERP platform through integrations, services, and supporting applications.
- Connect the platform with external systems and APIs.
- Work on data movement, imports, and application behaviour.
- Maintain and improve web-based applications where needed.
This role suits someone who enjoys taking a structured, end-to-end view of systems and using that understanding to solve integration and data-related problems in practical environments.
What we are looking for
You should be comfortable working across different parts of the stack rather than staying within a single layer. The role calls for someone who can dig into how data flows, how integrations behave, and how components interact within a larger platform.
- At least 4 years of experience with .NET and C#.
- Background in backend, desktop, or systems-based development.
- Strong SQL and database capability, including query writing and data analysis.
- Experience integrating with third-party systems and APIs.
- Good analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and curiosity about system behaviour.
- Exposure to ASP.NET, MVC, and web application development.
- Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Experience building or consuming REST APIs.
- Exposure to C, C++, or other low-level/system programming is beneficial.
- Experience with data transformation or import workflows.
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Crystal Reports or similar.
- Unit testing experience, such as xUnit, and Agile/Scrum exposure are advantageous.
- Experience creating or interfacing with AI agents through code is also advantageous.
Additional information
- The role is based at a riverside office near Hamilton CBD.
- A Ministry of Justice check is required.
- Applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
