About the role
Ryman Healthcare is looking for a full-time Gardener to join the friendly team at Bob Owens Retirement Village in Tauranga, Bay of Plenty. The roster runs from Tuesday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
What you will do
You will help keep the village grounds looking attractive, safe, and well cared for in a resort-style environment enjoyed by residents, their families, and staff. The role offers plenty of variety, including work around a bowling green, water features, residential spaces, and shared common areas. You will also work alongside colleagues and provide support where needed.
- Maintain the gardens and surrounding grounds to a high standard.
- Help ensure the outdoor areas remain tidy, welcoming, and safe.
- Carry out a range of gardening tasks across different parts of the village.
- Collaborate closely with team members and assist with shared work.
What we are looking for
To succeed in this role, you should bring prior experience in gardening or landscaping, along with strong practical problem-solving ability and a sharp eye for detail. Good communication skills are important, as is a dependable, approachable, and professional attitude. Horticultural qualifications are an advantage, though not essential.
Eligibility
Applicants must have the right to work in New Zealand for this position. While overseas applications are sometimes considered, immigration requirements mean New Zealand work rights are required.
