Role overview
Aramark is hiring a General Utility Worker in Victoria, British Columbia. This role supports day-to-day service operations by keeping dishware, kitchen tools, equipment, and work areas clean, sanitized, and well maintained. It is a good entry point for someone who is dependable, self-driven, and interested in building a career in service operations.
Responsibilities can differ by location depending on client needs and business requirements.
Key duties
- Wash and sanitize plates, pots, pans, cutlery, glassware, equipment, and kitchen utensils to help ensure a positive guest experience.
- Keep the dishwashing area, three-compartment sink, and nearby spaces clean and organized.
- Check that equipment remains clean and functional, and escalate any problems to management.
- Carry out light maintenance and custodial support tasks as needed.
- Provide courteous service and maintain a positive, professional attitude with guests, customers, clients, and teammates.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and company safety procedures at all times.
- Protect company property and assets.
What we're looking for
Candidates should understand basic sanitation practices and be able to follow safety procedures, especially when working around hazardous cleaning chemicals. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required. The position involves physical activity such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Uniforms and personal protective equipment may also be required.
