About Grip

Grip is modernizing cold-chain logistics for direct-to-consumer eCommerce brands. Established in 2022 by former ButcherBox leaders, the company blends proprietary technology with a nationwide fulfillment network to improve how perishable products are shipped. Its Smart Logistics Engine processes more than 25 million data points every day, factoring in weather, carrier performance, and live temperature data to make shipment decisions at the package level. Grip’s Pulse order management system provides live inventory visibility, batch traceability, and integrations with platforms such as Shopify, giving brands a single view of their supply chain. With temperature-controlled fulfillment centers placed strategically across the country, Grip can serve more than 80% of the U.S. population within 24 hours. The company’s goal is to help DTC brands grow efficiently through logistics solutions built for the unique demands of shipping perishables.

Role Overview

Grip is hiring an Inventory Analyst to act as the core data owner for one of its fulfillment facilities. This is a very hands-on position with regular presence on the warehouse floor. The role involves checking receiving activity, validating shipment accuracy, and ensuring that all inventory movement is reflected correctly in systems in real time. In addition to onsite operational work, the position is responsible for the facility’s inventory data layer, including database upkeep, record management in Pulse, recurring Excel reporting, and maintaining alignment across all systems. The ideal candidate brings strong technical capability, advanced Excel skills, familiarity with database concepts, and confidence working inside an order management system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stay on the warehouse floor to confirm incoming shipments, checking quantities, lot details, and product condition against ASNs and purchase orders before items are put away.
  • Keep the Pulse OMS accurate and current by managing receiving records, inventory updates, status changes, and batch traceability information, while serving as the facility’s primary system owner.
  • Create and maintain structured databases and tracking files that capture inventory movement, discrepancies, and status changes in an organized, audit-ready format.
  • Own the facility’s inventory reporting, including weeks of stock, depletion trends, no-velocity inventory, inbound purchase order status, and expected-versus-actual reconciliations, ensuring reports are timely and reliable for decision-making.
  • Investigate mismatches between physical counts and system records, identify root causes, document findings, and work with warehouse teams to resolve issues.
  • Track the status of all pallets in the facility, including damaged, on-hold, and expiring stock, and make sure those statuses are updated correctly in real time.
  • Run and support regular cycle counts, reconcile results to system data, and escalate unresolved differences.
  • Work closely with facility managers, warehouse associates, and operations leaders to resolve inventory exceptions and close out open actions.
  • Recommend process improvements for receiving, data entry, and reporting workflows based on data-backed observations.

Requirements

  • Advanced Excel capability, including pivot tables, complex formulas such as INDEX/MATCH and SUMIFS, array formulas, data validation, and structured reporting.
  • Hands-on experience using an order management system, with Pulse or a similar WMS/OMS platform considered an advantage.
  • Ability to build, maintain, and query structured databases or tracking files while working accurately with large datasets.
  • Comfort working in a cold-storage warehouse environment and verifying shipments directly on the floor.
  • Strong understanding of inventory fundamentals, including weeks of stock, depletion rate, on-hand quantity, receiving, ASNs, POs, lot tracking, and pallet-level handling.
  • Strong attention to detail with a consistent focus on data accuracy.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends and determine root causes rather than only spotting symptoms.
  • Clear communication style with the confidence to raise issues early and document them thoroughly.
  • Prior experience in a temperature-controlled or perishable fulfillment environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, data analytics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in inventory, warehouse operations, or data-driven logistics work with direct ownership of systems and reporting.
  • Experience using OMS, WMS, or IMS platforms, along with strong Microsoft Excel proficiency.

Eligibility

This role is suited to candidates who can work onsite in Texas, United States and are comfortable combining warehouse-floor verification with inventory systems and reporting work. Applicants should have a background in inventory operations, logistics, warehouse data, or related supply chain functions.

Work Environment

The role is based in a cold storage fulfillment setting and requires regular physical presence in the facility. It is a hands-on operations role that combines direct warehouse interaction with system ownership and reporting responsibilities.
