Role overview
Leigh & Co. Events is expanding quickly and is seeking a Lead Wedding Coordinator to support engaged couples with wedding planning, design, and coordination. This is a contract opportunity for someone who wants to build experience as a wedding planner. The role is primarily on location, and the schedule can be chosen by the coordinator. Training will be provided.
The assignment pays $400 for approximately 10 to 12 total hours, and compensation is offered per project. The team is looking for someone to join for the 2026 season and continue beyond that.
What you will do
You will act as the lead planner during wedding execution, working closely with client experience managers before the event and assistant coordinators on site. The focus is on delivering a smooth wedding day from final preparation through wrap-up.
- Join the final logistics call with clients about 6 weeks before the wedding to review timing, expectations, and event details.
- Run the ceremony rehearsal on the day before the wedding so everyone understands the sequence, timing, and cues.
- Represent the couple on site by staying calm, proactive, and focused on solutions if issues come up.
- Supervise ceremony and reception setup so it matches the event design and the day-of operations plan.
- Oversee the wedding day from vendor arrivals through final breakdown in the evening.
- Welcome vendors, guide them on site, and serve as the central contact throughout the event.
- Give vendors clear setup direction so their work aligns with the planned layout and schedule.
- Help place personal and décor items such as escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, guest books, and other decorative details.
- Assist the wedding party and family members with timing, direction, and day-of support.
- Make sure end-of-event items such as gifts, guest books, and personal décor are packed and tracked properly.
- Handle unexpected changes or issues quickly to protect the overall guest experience.
