Role overview
Leigh & Co. Events is expanding and is seeking a Lead Wedding Coordinator to support wedding planning and day-of execution for couples. This contract opportunity is designed for someone who wants to build a career in wedding planning and can choose a schedule that works for them. Training will be provided, and the role is intended for the 2026 season and future seasons as well.
The position is primarily onsite and involves serving as the lead planner for weddings, working closely with client experience managers before the event and assistant coordinators on the wedding day.
Compensation
This is a project-based contract role with pay of $400 for approximately 10 to 12 hours of work per wedding.
Key responsibilities
The Lead Wedding Coordinator will manage the final planning touchpoints, rehearsal, ceremony, reception setup, vendor coordination, and overall event flow so that each wedding runs smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Join the final details call with clients about six weeks before the wedding to review logistics, timeline, and expectations.
- Run and guide the ceremony rehearsal on the day before the wedding, making sure everyone understands timing, procession order, and important cues.
- Act as the couple’s main onsite advocate by staying calm, solution-oriented, and supportive throughout the event.
- Supervise ceremony and reception setup to match the event design and the day-of execution plan.
- Oversee the wedding day from vendor arrival through end-of-night breakdown.
- Welcome vendors, give direction, and serve as the central onsite contact.
- Share setup instructions with vendors so all event details are carried out correctly.
- Coordinate the placement of personal and event items such as escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, guest books, and décor.
- Support the wedding party and family members with timing guidance, cues, and other day-of assistance.
- Make sure gifts, guest books, personal décor, and other end-of-event items are packed and accounted for.
- Handle unexpected issues and last-minute changes proactively to protect the guest experience.
Requirements
- Weekend availability is required.
- At least 2 years of experience as a wedding planner or event planner is needed.
- Strong communication skills and a detail-focused approach are essential.
- Reliable transportation is required.
- The ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs is necessary.
Additional information
This role is offered on a contract basis and is primarily onsite in Bozeman, MT. Training is included, and candidates should be prepared to join for the 2026 season and beyond.
