Role overview

Ryanair, one of Europe’s largest airline groups, is hiring a Materials Manager to join its expanding engineering organisation in Dublin. This role sits within the Purchasing and Materials function and reports to the Head of Materials, Repairs & Logistics. The business is scaling rapidly, with plans to reach 300 million passengers and 800 aircraft by 2034.

In this position, you will take ownership of the aircraft component repair cycle across the fleet. The role covers vendor management, repair turnaround, cost control, and compliance with aviation standards. You will support both Line Maintenance and Heavy Maintenance by making sure repaired parts are available when required. Key duties

  • Own the full component repair workflow, including sending parts out, monitoring progress, and ensuring they return to service on time.
  • Manage approved repair suppliers and review performance against agreed service levels.
  • Track repair spend, warranty exposure, and adherence to contractual terms.
  • Maintain complete records and traceability for repaired items in line with EASA, CAA, and FAA requirements.
  • Work with Planning and other Engineering teams to predict repair demand and improve inventory planning.
  • Prepare and oversee the materials budget.
  • Manage the open RO Book to support on-time component availability.
  • Support materials needs for Heavy Maintenance.
  • Support materials needs for Line Maintenance.
  • Control costs across the materials function.
  • Lead the Logistics Team.
  • Oversee the Stores operation.
  • Drive improvement projects to simplify or automate repair processes and reduce downtime.
  • Handle contract negotiations.
  • Manage AOG and defect control activities.
  • Develop KPIs for the Materials department.
  • Provide support for Simulator and Challenger operations.

Requirements

  • A degree-level qualification in a relevant field, or an equivalent standard.
  • Prior experience in a comparable role is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating at senior level.
  • Strong organisational ability and the capacity to manage many priorities in a high-pressure setting.
  • Excellent numerical skills and experience with contracts.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Sound judgement and maturity in decision-making.
  • Strong computer literacy and effective communication skills.
