Role overview

Sulzer Wexford is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer (Project Manager) with a strong product-development focus. The role covers the full journey from initial concept, through prototyping and testing, to successful launch. You will contribute to the development of the next generation of submersible pumps and agitators that support high-performance and high-reliability water recycling and sustainable operations worldwide.

Sulzer Wexford is a major engineering and manufacturing location within the company’s worldwide network. The site has more than 250 employees and supports critical work in water recycling, sustainability, and energy efficiency for customers around the world.

Key duties

• Take ownership of product development projects from start to finish using established project management practices.
• Create and refine new products, mainly submersible pumps and agitators, by turning requirements into practical, reliable engineering solutions.
• Manage prototype construction, testing, and verification, including detailed documentation, assessment, and interpretation of outcomes.
• Help ensure new products are introduced successfully into production and international markets.
• Serve as a key contact point for customers, suppliers, and internal teams to maintain alignment across engineering, quality, and commercial priorities.

Candidate profile

The ideal person will have a formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering. The role suits someone who can convert requirements into workable and inventive product ideas, is comfortable with hands-on testing and validation, and communicates confidently with a range of stakeholders. Interest in shaping the next generation of engineered products is important.
