Role Summary

The Medical Scribe supports providers during on-site rounds in skilled nursing facilities and senior living communities. This role centers on live documentation of patient visits in the electronic medical record so the provider can stay focused on the resident. Scribes do not deliver hands-on clinical care, and their notes are reviewed and approved by the provider.

This opportunity is well suited for individuals interested in building experience in the medical field, especially within geriatric and value-based care settings.

Responsibilities

• Accompany the provider during rounds in skilled nursing facilities and senior living communities
• Capture patient encounters in real time inside the electronic medical record
• Document procedures, assessments, diagnoses, and orders as instructed by the provider
• Pull relevant information from previous encounters and summarize the medical history
• Track incoming laboratory and radiology results, refresh the chart, and notify the provider when needed
• Record care plans and treatment recommendations in the patient record
• Maintain documentation that aligns with compliance requirements
• Assist with other documentation-related tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a busy setting
• Consistent professionalism and respect for patient privacy and confidentiality
• Fluency in English and a typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
• Comfort using computers and learning new software or systems quickly
• High school diploma or an equivalent credential is required
• Interest in healthcare is preferred; coursework in pre-med, nursing, biology, or medical terminology is an added advantage

Additional Information

This role is based in Bossier City, Louisiana, and is a full-time onsite position. No stipend or salary amount has been specified.

The role is open to applicants who are interested in the medical field and meet the listed communication, typing, computer, and education requirements. Prior clinical training is not required.
