About the role
A global semiconductor business is hiring a Performance Modelling Engineer to help shape next-generation GPU platforms. The work focuses on high-performance, power-efficient graphics and compute solutions used across mobile devices, VR, AI, IoT, and autonomous systems. This is a permanent, on-site role in Cork, Ireland.
What you will do
- Create bit-accurate GPU functional models in C and C++ to emulate upcoming GPU architectures.
- Develop algorithms for functional components and confirm their correctness through validation and verification.
- Construct and run thorough test coverage, including conformance, stress, and randomized testing, to improve the reliability of GPU and compute platforms.
- Work closely with architects, designers, driver engineers, and compiler teams to agree on scope and deliver strong technical outcomes.
What you need
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar subject, along with at least 4 years of experience; or a master’s degree with 2+ years of experience; or a PhD in a relevant area.
- Demonstrated strength in C++ development, with a disciplined approach to clean, maintainable, professional code.
- Good knowledge of computer architecture and/or graphics pipeline concepts.
Additional information
The role is permanent and based onsite in Cork, County Cork, Ireland.
Relevant areas of interest include GPU modeling, performance modeling, C-Model development, compute pipelines, functional verification, simulation, stress testing, driver development, compiler collaboration, and adjacent technologies such as VR, AI, IoT, and autonomous systems.
