Production Planner

Job Summary

The Production Planner will be responsible for building and continuously updating the Master Production Schedule (MPS). This role converts demand forecasts and customer orders into a practical production plan that can be delivered on time. The planner will keep production aligned by balancing demand, available capacity, and inventory while supporting a steady workflow and reliable execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain the Master Production Schedule so that production plans stay in line with demand and manufacturing capacity.
• Turn forecasted demand and customer orders into a realistic plan that the plant can execute effectively.
• Track production progress against the plan and take action when variances appear.
• Set production timing to help meet delivery dates and keep operations running smoothly.
• Manage the relationship between demand, capacity, and inventory to improve efficiency and reduce interruptions.
• Support uninterrupted production flow so output targets are achieved consistently.
• Carry out rough-cut capacity planning to spot bottlenecks early and guide planning decisions.
• Work with different teams to coordinate priorities and resolve planning-related concerns.

Requirements

• Well-developed skills in planning and forecasting.
• Strong working knowledge of Excel and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Solid understanding of how production processes operate.
• Good analytical ability with a practical approach to solving problems.
• Clear communication and coordination skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
