Role overview
Road & Rail Services is seeking a Railcar Inspector/Prep team member in West Point, GA. In this role, you will help ready railcars for transport by carrying out cleaning and inspection tasks that support safe, efficient rail operations.
Key duties
- Follow all safety rules, customer requirements, company procedures, and industry operating standards.
- Check railcar end doors and help open and close them as needed.
- Examine railcars for signs of wear, fatigue, or damage.
- Spot repairs that can be completed by Road & Rail Services.
- Use backpack blowers and scraping tools to clear away debris and other material that could damage vehicles.
- Keep assigned equipment accounted for and maintain it properly.
- Handle housekeeping and site upkeep tasks as directed by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent ability.
- Strong focus on safety.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to meet attendance expectations.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and a positive, can-do approach.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Valid state driver’s license.
