Role overview

Early Start Australia is seeking a Registered Psychologist to join its allied health team in Coomera and Ashmore. Assessment work

• Prepare assessment sessions by reviewing referrals and questionnaire information in advance.
• Carry out both standardised and informal assessments, including tools such as WPPSI, WISC, WRAT, WRAML, ADOS, and MIGDAS.
• Share feedback promptly with clients and families, and confirm what therapy support is needed.
• Produce and send assessment reports within two weeks.

Therapy delivery

• Provide client-focused assessment, counselling, and therapeutic support.
• Manage a discipline-specific caseload, including clients with complex needs.
• Design, implement, monitor, and update individual therapy programs.
• Deliver services in clinic, home, school, and community settings.
• Work closely with other allied health professionals and contribute to specialised intervention plans.
• Maintain confidentiality, privacy, and evidence-based practice at all times.

Therapy programs and progress tracking

• Complete initial appointments and create therapy plans based on client goals.
• Develop targeted interventions and structured session plans with measurable outcomes.
• Provide resources and activities that can be used at home and in school.
• Track progress, revise goals, and complete reviews and reports as needed.
• Refer clients to other disciplines or group programs when appropriate.

Documentation, funding, and compliance

• Finalise clinical notes within 24 hours.
• Prepare accurate and compliant reports for stakeholders and funding organisations.
• Log incidents and complaints when required.
• Ensure therapy plans are aligned with available funding sources such as NDIS.
• Take part in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
• Follow registration requirements, workplace policies, WHS obligations, and child safety standards.

Qualifications and compliance

• A relevant qualification in Psychology.
• Current registration with AHPRA and the Psychology Board of Australia.
• An NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• A current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.
• A valid Working with Children Check or Working with Vulnerable People registration, depending on the state.
• A National Police Check.
• An accredited First Aid certificate.
