Senior Test Analyst

Role overview

As a Senior Test Analyst, you will take a hands-on lead in assuring the quality of software and platform solutions. The role calls for deep testing expertise, strong collaboration with engineering teams, and the ability to shape and deliver effective test coverage across new and existing applications.

Key responsibilities

• Use advanced testing knowledge, methods, and techniques to validate software and platform quality.
• Partner with engineering teams to shape testing approaches for both new builds and existing systems.
• Plan and run functional, integration, and system-level testing.
• Plan and run load, scalability, and performance testing.
• Create test plans and test cases from functional and design documents.
• Review code to help ensure it is accurate and meets quality expectations.
• Take ownership of challenging defect analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution support.
• Identify issues where standard methods or the software do not satisfy client needs.
• Handle technical defects escalated by less experienced team members.
• Guide team members in preparing scripts, expected outcomes, actual results, and defect write-ups.
• Contribute to wider organisational initiatives and activities.

Requirements

• A BA/BS degree, plus 6 to 8 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience.
• Strong background in quality assurance and software testing across multiple test types.
• Experience working with engineering teams and participating in technical problem solving.
• Capability to investigate complex defects and support resolution of escalated issues.
• Preference for candidates who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
