Software Estimator - Assistant Manager

Role Overview

We are hiring a Software Estimator - Assistant Manager for the Bengaluru location. The role focuses on building accurate software project estimates, reviewing technical inputs, and supporting stakeholders with clear assumptions and supporting documentation.

Core Responsibilities

• Bring at least 7 years of hands-on experience in software estimation.
• Apply a strong grasp of the software development life cycle and delivery approaches such as Agile and Waterfall.
• Use knowledge of programming languages and software architecture to assess technical effort and complexity.
• Work with Software Lines of Code (SLOC) as part of estimation analysis.
• Review technical specifications, requirement documents, and design materials to prepare estimates.
• Use estimation methods and tools such as SEER, @Risk, BOE, and ETC.
• Perform statistical analysis to support estimate accuracy and defensibility.
• Use business and manufacturing understanding where relevant to estimation scenarios.
• Prepare a Statement of Work (SOW), including ground rules and assumptions, by asking the right questions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders such as developers, QA teams, engineers, and business analysts.
• Manage multiple concurrent assignments and produce estimates within tight timelines.
• Assess supplier proposals for software development work and judge whether the effort and cost are reasonable.
• Explain estimation logic and assumptions clearly to internal stakeholders and defend estimates when needed.
• Stay organized and manage estimation work with strong project coordination habits.
• Be open to working in any shift as required.
