About the Organisation
St. Christopher's Services CLG delivers a community-focused, high-quality service for people with intellectual disabilities. The organisation is seeking staff who are dedicated to supporting people with disabilities and their families in a respectful, person-centred, community-based way that reflects its mission, national standards, quality practices, and evidence-informed care.
Role Overview
This position is for a Support Worker within the Residential and Respite & Children's Service. The role involves delivering person-centred support to service users, promoting independence, choice, and everyday wellbeing while working within a regulated environment. The post also includes helping ensure the assigned area operates smoothly and effectively.
Employment Details
This is a permanent residential services role for 35 hours per week.
Qualifications
A minimum of FETAC Level 5 in Social Care, Special Needs, Healthcare, or a related field is required.
Experience and Role Requirements
- Prior experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities is required.
- Experience and understanding of the residential, social, and recreational needs of people with intellectual disabilities are important for this role.
- Knowledge of advocacy and the use of individual personal plans or person-centred planning is needed.
- A full, clean driving licence is essential, along with a willingness to drive as part of the job.
- The successful candidate must be able to meet the competencies outlined in the job description and person specification.
