Track Allocation Co-Ordinator

Role overview

The Track Allocation Co-Ordinator supports the day-to-day allocation of train paths and related track access activities within a railway operations environment in Dublin. The position plays a key part in timetable preparation, access charge administration, regulatory support, and coordination across internal and external stakeholders.

Key duties

• Assess train path allocation requests against available capacity and operational requirements.
• Support the administration and recovery of track access charges.
• Help prepare and circulate the annual Working Timetable (WTT).
• Convert the Working Timetable into a presentation format that is suitable for design and print production.
• Carry out general administrative support tasks as needed.
• Handle administrative work connected to European regulatory requirements.
• Step in for the Capacity Allocation Manager when required.

Reporting and working relationships

This role reports to the Capacity Allocation Manager, Essential Functions Body. It works closely with the Iarnród Éireann Infrastructure Manager, licensed Railway Undertakings operating on the Iarnród Éireann network, and CIÉ Group Finance.

Required experience and competencies

The role calls for practical experience in railway operations, knowledge of operational planning, and a solid understanding of the Working Timetable. Strong analytical thinking, sound judgement, and effective problem-solving are important, along with a high level of accuracy and the ability to collaborate across multiple teams and functions.
