Overview
The role focuses on moving patients and supplies safely and respectfully across the facility, while also supporting additional tasks as needed.
Job Summary
This position is responsible for courteous and secure transportation of patients and/or materials within the hospital. The transporter also handles other assigned duties.
Responsibilities
- Move patients, equipment, and supplies through the hospital so they are ready when needed for care.
- Help maintain a clean, infection-controlled environment for everyone in the facility.
- Record each patient transport in the correct department log.
- Check equipment before use to confirm it is functioning properly.
- Work toward and complete assigned goals.
Specifications
Experience: A minimum of 6 months in a hospital setting or in customer service is preferred.
Education: The minimum requirement is a level of knowledge, skill, and mental development comparable to completing 4 years of high school, or an acceptable mix of education and experience. A high school diploma or GED, or higher, is preferred.
