Utility Cleaner

Role Overview

The Utility Cleaner position supports a range of essential hotel operations. This role may rotate across areas such as the kitchen, food and beverage, and laundry departments, helping keep workspaces clean and efficient. Typical tasks include preparing clean linen and spotless dining items for guests, using and caring for cleaning equipment like dishwashers, hand-wash stations, and linen washers and dryers, and moving dishes or linens throughout the property as needed.

Key Duties

The job calls for maintaining a safe and orderly workplace, following company procedures, and meeting Marriott’s quality standards. The position also requires a professional appearance and communication style, as well as positive teamwork across departments. You will be expected to listen carefully to colleagues, respond appropriately to concerns, report accidents or unsafe conditions, and perform other duties assigned by supervisors.

Work Expectations

This is a full-time, non-management role based onsite in Kampala, Uganda. It is not a remote position. The work may involve standing, sitting, or walking for long periods, reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The role also requires the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Qualifications

No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required. The employer does not require prior related work experience, supervisory experience, or any license or certification for this position.
