Role Overview
This position is for an AI-focused Python developer based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The role combines machine learning development, software engineering, data processing, and stakeholder collaboration, with an emphasis on using AI-assisted tools to build and improve solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support AI and machine learning solutions as part of the product or platform stack.
- Work with GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding tools to speed up and improve development workflows.
- Contribute to software engineering tasks, including building maintainable, production-ready code.
- Handle data engineering and data processing activities needed for model development and implementation.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
- Monitor model performance and make improvements to enhance reliability and output quality.
Required Skills and Experience
- Overall professional experience of more than 5 years, including at least 2 years in AI-related work.
- Strong coding ability in Python; experience in other programming languages is also acceptable.
- Practical exposure to machine learning libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot or comparable AI-assisted development tools.
- Working knowledge of large language models, prompt engineering, and generative AI concepts.
- Experience building or integrating REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-based solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Familiarity with data tools and workflows involving Pandas, SQL, and Spark.
- Experience working with Azure OpenAI or OpenAI APIs.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical thinking abilities with an innovation-driven, AI-first mindset.
