TAWANTECH is hiring an experienced Database Developer for its banking technology team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position sits within the Information Technology department and focuses on building, improving, and supporting enterprise-grade database solutions that power critical banking applications.

The role involves working across several database technologies, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. The selected professional will contribute to database design, development, optimization, integration, and ongoing support in a regulated financial environment.

What you will do

• Build and support database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
• Write and fine-tune SQL queries to improve speed, scalability, and overall efficiency.
• Design and maintain ETL workflows and data migration solutions.
• Investigate performance issues, tune databases, optimize queries, and resolve technical problems.
• Assist application development teams with database architecture and implementation.
• Maintain strong standards for data integrity, security, availability, and banking compliance.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, database specifications, and data dictionaries.
• Carry out backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
• Track database health, storage/capacity requirements, and performance indicators.
• Support upgrade activities, patching, and migrations between environments.
• Work closely with infrastructure, application, and business stakeholders to deliver effective database solutions.
• Handle production incidents and provide prompt fixes.
• Follow security controls, regulatory obligations, and banking best practices.

Requirements

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline. The role calls for at least 5 years of practical experience in database development and administration.

Strong working knowledge is needed across Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, along with solid command of SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and core database programming principles. Prior exposure to performance tuning, optimization, database security, backup and recovery, and high-availability setups is expected.

Experience with ETL and data integration tools is preferred. Candidates with a background in banking or financial services will be given strong preference. The ideal applicant should also bring strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability, teamwork, and communication skills.
