Role Summary
In this position, you will assemble, commission, and maintain mechatronic systems and automated installations. Your work includes installing and wiring electrical and electronic components, carrying out function tests, and identifying and resolving faults during live operations. You will also handle inspection and preventive maintenance tasks, document your work steps, and collaborate closely with design, production, and service teams. The role is full-time and based onsite in Velbert. Through your work, you will make a direct contribution to the quality and availability of machines and operating equipment.
Responsibilities
- Build, set up, and start up mechatronic systems and automated machinery.
- Install and connect electrical and electronic components according to technical specifications.
- Perform functional checks and test system performance after assembly or maintenance work.
- Trace faults in running equipment and carry out effective troubleshooting.
- Complete inspection, servicing, and maintenance activities to support reliable operation.
- Record completed work and maintenance steps in a clear and structured way.
- Work in coordination with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams.
- Contribute to the dependable quality and uptime of machines and production equipment.
Requirements
- Solid knowledge of mechatronics and electromechanics, ideally backed by completed training as a mechatronics technician or an equivalent qualification.
- Confident handling of electrical and electronic systems, circuit diagrams, and measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of control systems and drive technology is an advantage.
- Practical experience in fault diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of machines and industrial equipment.
- Ability to analyze problems systematically and resolve technical issues in a sustainable way.
- Independent, careful, and structured working style.
- Strong technical understanding and good teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn new technologies such as automation, Industry 4.0, and additive manufacturing.
- Good German language skills in speaking and writing.
- Confident use of common tools and work equipment.
- First experience in mechanical engineering or plant engineering is desirable.
