Role summary
This is a full-time, on-site position in Nairobi County, Kenya for a Mobile Application Developer. The selected candidate will create, improve, and support mobile applications that power Beba Fleet’s ride and delivery operations. The role focuses on delivering a secure, smooth user experience for rider, driver, and partner apps while working closely with product, design, and backend teams.
What you will work on
- Design and deliver new mobile app features that support Beba Fleet’s mobility and delivery products.
- Investigate and fix defects to keep the apps stable and reliable.
- Improve app speed, responsiveness, and overall performance.
- Turn product needs into scalable technical implementations with cross-functional teams.
- Take part in code reviews and uphold code quality standards.
- Develop unit and integration tests to support dependable releases.
- Contribute to clearer documentation, better development practices, and smoother release processes.
What the employer is looking for
- Practical experience building and maintaining production-ready mobile applications.
- Comfort working with modern mobile development frameworks and tools for Android and/or cross-platform apps.
- Strong grasp of object-oriented programming concepts and design patterns in mobile development.
- Exposure to iOS/Android development, including Swift, Objective-C, Xcode, and the Apple mobile ecosystem, is beneficial.
- Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, and backend integration.
- Familiarity with Git and team-based development workflows.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code with attention to performance and security.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or comparable hands-on experience.
- Good analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced onsite environment.
- Experience with real-time features such as live tracking or push notifications, or exposure to mobility, logistics, or delivery apps, is an advantage.
