Role overview

Swiggy is hiring a Software Development Engineer II focused on React Native for its Bengaluru team. This position sits within a group that owns complex product systems from design through architecture, and helps shape the technical direction of the team. The role involves working closely with product and business stakeholders to convert product ideas and feature requirements into both high-level and detailed designs, then turning those designs into reliable, mission-critical applications.

What you will do

• Drive engineering practices that help the team deliver technical work effectively and continue improving the product’s underlying technology.
• Create user-facing mobile features and applications.
• Develop reusable code components and libraries that can be used again in future work.
• Make sure UI and UX designs are technically feasible before implementation.
• Deliver clean, accurate, pixel-perfect results across Android devices.
• Improve app performance so it runs quickly and scales well.
• Understand how the third-party libraries used in the product work under the hood.

What the team is looking for

• Strong command of React Native and core React concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Android native development.
• Solid grasp of ES6 and newer JavaScript features.
• Working knowledge of TypeScript is essential.
• Good understanding of design patterns and engineering practices for writing clean, maintainable, linted, and reusable code.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
• Exposure to supporting tools and libraries such as Redux, Redux Saga, Zustand, and Lerna is advantageous.
• Experience with test-driven development and unit testing tools such as Jest and react-native-testing-library.
