The Junior CSS Developer plays a critical part in shaping the visual design and layout of our written counsel, making certain web-based reports are accessible, polished, and professional. This is a full-time, entry-level role emphasizing the importance of how information is visually conveyed alongside its content.

Responsibilities

In this role, your main focus will be front-end styling for digital document platforms. Collaborating closely with technical and editorial teams, you will translate complex written material into clear, browser-friendly layouts. Core daily tasks include crafting maintainable CSS to manage typography, responsive frameworks, and the organization of data tables within our internal tools. Since our firm prefers detailed prose over traditional slide presentations, you are tasked with ensuring lengthy multi-page documents remain easily legible on various screen sizes. Additionally, you will assist in maintaining style guides to guarantee consistent presentation across client projects, including ongoing assignments for our financial services partner.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of modern CSS and HTML fundamentals.
• Knowledge of layout concepts such as the box model, flexbox, and CSS grid.
• Interest in typography and spatial design, appreciating how adjustments in line height or margins enhance reader engagement.
• Basic proficiency in CSS3 and HTML5 coding standards.
• Familiarity with responsive design techniques and media queries.
• Understanding of web accessibility principles to ensure readable content for all audiences.
• Exposure to CSS preprocessors like Sass or Less is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Capability to develop clean, semantic HTML/CSS that prioritizes information structure.
• Good written communication skills to document code and articulate technical decisions.
• Disciplined approach towards testing and refining visual layouts.
• Comfort operating independently within a fully remote company environment.
