Role Overview
The Data Analyst will create, improve, and support analytics solutions that inform product and business decisions across the organization. The position focuses on transforming data in Databricks, developing dashboards in Power BI, helping maintain a shared semantic layer, and supporting reliable data pipelines. The role works closely with product, engineering, finance, and go-to-market stakeholders to deliver self-service reporting, uncover insights from SaaS performance data, and uphold data quality across core reporting assets.
Core Responsibilities
- Use Databricks to write, tune, and maintain SQL and Python-based queries for extracting, shaping, and analyzing large product and business datasets.
- Create and support Power BI dashboards and reports that track SaaS metrics such as ARR, churn, NRR, and product adoption for different teams.
- Assist in building and maintaining the enterprise semantic layer so metric definitions, business rules, and governed access remain consistent across tools.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, finance, and GTM teams to clarify analytical needs, perform ad hoc analysis, and turn findings into practical recommendations.
- Watch data freshness and accuracy, work with data engineering on pipeline troubleshooting, and make sure reporting surfaces are based on trusted data.
Key Deliverables
- Production-ready Power BI dashboards and reports for SaaS KPIs, with clear documentation for data sources and refresh cadence.
- Version-controlled Databricks notebooks and queries for recurring analysis, cohort work, and deep-dive investigations supporting product and GTM stakeholders.
- Reviewed and validated additions to the semantic layer, including metric definitions, dimensional models, and business logic that support consistent self-service analytics.
Qualifications
- Strong practical experience with Databricks, including Spark SQL, notebooks, and Delta Lake, along with advanced SQL for transformation, analysis, and pipeline support.
- Working knowledge of Power BI, including DAX, data modeling, and service administration for dashboard creation and self-service enablement.
- Understanding of semantic layer concepts, dimensional modeling, and metric frameworks used to keep reporting definitions governed and consistent.
- Ability to explain complex analytical results clearly through narratives and visualizations for product, engineering, and business audiences.
- Comfort working cross-functionally to scope, deliver, and present analytical work.
- Exposure to AI/BI capabilities such as Databricks AI/BI dashboards and Genie spaces is advantageous.
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or another quantitative discipline is required. The role calls for 2 to 4 years of professional experience in data analysis or analytics engineering, preferably in a SaaS or technology environment. Direct experience with Databricks and Power BI is required, while familiarity with semantic layer tools, AI/BI enablement, or data governance practices is preferred.
